How Pillowise Works in Your Practice: A Step-by-Step Guide for US Providers

Pillowise works in your practice in seven steps: register and verify your license, set up your display, measure the patient, choose the size, hand over the pillow, back it with the comfort guarantee, and reorder as needed with no minimum. The provider takes the measurements and the patient takes the fit home.

    Key takeaways

    • Pillowise is sold only through licensed US chiropractors, PTs and massage therapists. Accounts are activated manually after your license is validated.
    • A fitting uses three measurements (shoulder width, neck circumference, neck height) plus sleeping position and mattress firmness. The Pillowise algorithm then picks one of 7 sizes.
    • You do not need inventory. Pillowise can drop ship to the patient in the name of your practice, and there is no minimum order.

What does a fitted pillow add to my practice?

You assess and treat in your office. The patient sleeps on a pillow for hours every night, and a stock pillow has one height for every shoulder width and neck. A fitted pillow is an adjunct to care, not a treatment. It fits into the care plan you already have. For the clinical reasoning, see does a pillow add to chiropractic care.

Pillowise is not sold in retail stores or on Amazon, and selling it on Amazon is not allowed. Your patients will not find it at a discount price online, so you do not compete with online discounts.

How do I get started, step by step?

    1. Register and license check. Register on the provider page. We validate your license and then activate your account manually, so allow for that before you plan a launch date.

    2. Display package. If you want pillows in the room, the Display Package Deal is $449. It includes:

    • a display
    • all 6 pillows
    • posters and a banner
    • measuring tapes
    • full use of the online software
    • one complimentary pillow

Patients can feel the pillows and see the colors. The pillow overview shows what they will see. A display is not the only way to work with Pillowise, because you can also run the whole process without stock (see step 5). The reseller shop also sells patient brochures (pack of 25), measuring pads and tapes.

    3. Measure the patient. You take three measurements:

    • Shoulder width.
    • Neck circumference at C4/C5, which is below the Adam's apple for men.
    • Neck height, from the mastoid process diagonally to the outer edge of the acromion.

You then add two things the patient tells you:

    • Sleeping position (side, back or stomach). This is the position in which the patient falls asleep. If they have no idea, choose side.
    • Mattress firmness (soft, medium or firm). If they do not know, choose medium. This also applies to memory foam mattresses and hotels.

Ideally a second person takes the measurements, which is easier than measuring yourself. You can measure with PillowScan on a mobile device or manually, as described on the measurement page. For a walk-through of the appointment from the patient's side, see what happens in a pillow fitting. The measurement is free for the patient at every reseller.

    4. Choose the size. The Pillowise algorithm combines the five inputs and picks one of 7 sizes. Two people with very different bodies can get the same size, because no single measurement decides it. The system indicates the right size for about 95% of people. Two limits matter in practice:

    • Weight is not part of the calculation. A heavier person sinks deeper into the mattress and may need a lower pillow.
    • You should check the patient's position on the pillow and adjust if needed, for example in pregnancy.

Your clinical judgment stays in the loop. The algorithm gives a starting point, not a verdict. We do not patent it, and we simply call it the Pillowise algorithm.

    5. Hand over the pillow. There are two routes:

    • From your display or stock: the patient takes the pillow home after the appointment.
    • Drop ship: Pillowise ships directly to the patient in the name of your practice. You need no inventory, and single pillows are fine.

The standard pillow is 22 x 14 in. It has a 100% premium Dutch memory foam core, made in the Netherlands. The cover is 40% Tencel and 60% polyester, removable and machine washable at 104°F. Suggested retail prices are $119 for the travel pillow, $159 for the standard pillow and $199 for the queen pillow. You set your own final price, and resellers make a healthy margin.

    6. Comfort guarantee and exchanges. Tell the patient to give the pillow 7 to 10 days to adjust. A new pillow can feel different at first. Within 30 days of purchase, the patient can exchange it for another size or return it for a refund. Return shipping is paid by the customer, and shipping charges are not refunded. Returns go to The Fulfillment Company in Cheshire, CT. A separate 5-year warranty covers material and production faults. It does not cover normal changes in firmness, improper use, wear and tear, contamination or damage after delivery. The patient activates it at /warranty and should keep the invoice.

    7. Reorder with no minimum. Order what you need, when you need it. There is no minimum order for practices. You can restock display pillows, order a single pillow by drop ship, or add brochures and measuring pads in the reseller shop.

What are the limits I should tell patients about?

A fitted pillow will not resolve every neck or sleep complaint. Pain that wakes a patient, spreads into the arm, or comes with other symptoms still needs your assessment, not a new pillow. The right pillow height is one input among several, alongside mattress, posture and daytime load. The research on pillow height is also modest in size. We summarize what the studies do and do not show in adjusting pillow height for neck pain: clinical studies. We recommend describing the pillow to patients as support for the sleeping position, not as a cure.

Where do patients find my practice?

Patients look for a provider on the Find a Reseller page and book a measurement. Once you are active, your practice can appear there. Questions that come up before registration, such as account activation or the guarantee, are covered in the FAQ. You can also reach us at (844) 291 7392 or info@pillowise-usa.com.
